How a padel Americano works

In padel americano, players compete as individuals, not fixed pairs. Each round pairs you with a different partner against a different pair, and every point won is added to your personal total. The player with the most accumulated points wins.

Each round has one fixed length, commonly 16, 21, 24 or 32 points, rather than games or sets. All rounds must be the same length for the ranking to be fair. A padel court is 20 m x 10 m, enclosed by glass and mesh, and the sport is played almost entirely as doubles — ideal conditions for the social Americano format in padel clubs.

Mexicano differs because pairings are decided by the current standings after each round: typically 1st plays with 4th against 2nd and 3rd. This generator shows the live standings needed for that mode.

Individual total = sum of points won in every round

The schedule maximises partner variety and balances sit-outs. When a perfect rotation is not possible for the player count and rounds entered, the result says so.

Padel Americano generator FAQ

How many players do I need?

You need at least 4 players and one court. Each court uses exactly 4 players per round.

What happens when the player count is not divisible by four?

The generator rotates sit-outs and reports when a perfect partnership rotation is not possible.

How are Americano rankings calculated?

Every point is credited to the individual player who won it, then totals are compared across equal-length rounds.

How does Mexicano pairing work?

After scores are entered, standings determine the next round: 1st and 4th play 2nd and 3rd on each court.

Is the score sheet printable?

Yes. Generate the schedule, enter scores as team totals, then use Print score sheet.
